Northern Rivers Food invites you to the most fabulous, most local and most delectable gastronomic graze over three glorious days at this year’s Harvest Food Festival. Clear your calendar to make room for local food, beverages, culinary surprises and wonderful company as you explore some of our region’s finest offerings.

We are pleased to announce that Australian media personality and broadcaster Angela Catterns will be our host for the duration of the event.

Northern Rivers Food Harvest Festival 2017

VENUE:  Cape Byron Distillery, McLeods Shoot, Byron Bay 
TIME:  1:00pm – 5:00pm (sunset)

Day One of the Harvest Food Festival celebrates in style with a fabulous gathering at the brand new Cape Byron Distillery. The afternoon will include the ultimate Distillery experience, rainforest tours, a botanicals sensory experience, Bangalow Sweet Pork “Pig on the spit”, fabulous cheese & salumi plates and an opportunity to experience the premium Brookies Byron Dry Gin.

Saturday ~ 06 May 2017  Coast to Country:
Discover the marvels of Cheese, Carool and Cane Sugar Rum

INCLUDES:  Guided bus tour, farm & distillery visits and lunch
TIME:  8.00am – 4.30pm

Hop on the foodie bus and discover the delights in our abundant Northern Rivers backyard. We’ll visit an artisanal cheesemaker, enjoy a sumptuous paddock-to-plate lunch at an award-winning restaurant and enjoy festive cocktails in the field, at an innovative craft rum & gin producer’s farm. The bus will pick up and drop off from Elements of Byron Resort, Byron Bay.

Big Harvest Food Discovery Day

INCLUDES:  Guided bus tour / farm visits
TIME:  8.30am – 12.30pm

Come along and discover some of the finest local producers in the “Rainbow Region”. Starting from the picturesque village of Clunes, this farmgate tour includes a range of Sunday strolls through local farms. We’ll visit a vibrant indigenous bush foods plantation and see how Davidson plums are grown, a premium sheep farm, and meet and learn about biodynamic farming from our region’s very own ‘Garlic Guru’.

Sunday ~ 07 May 2017 Rustic Harvest Finale Feast
at Historic Clunes Hall with Chef Francisco Smoje

VENUE:  Coronation Hall, Clunes 
TIME:  12.30pm – 4:00pm

Who doesn’t love a long, late autumnal lunch? Join us for a culmination of the Harvest Food Festival and enjoy a communal-style dining experience in the historic Coronation Hall at Clunes. Roaming Chef Francisco Smoje of Francisco’s Table fame, will create one of his signature celebratory feasts showcasing the area’s amazing and bountiful produce. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet and chat with some of our renowned local food authors and purchase a cookbook or two.

Introducing our Harvest Food Festival Host:
Angela Catterns AM

Angela Catterns is one of Australia’s most experienced broadcasters and interviewers. With a diverse media career in film, TV and radio she has presented programs nationally, in Sydney, in country NSW and in Washington DC.

You may remember her from Simon Townsend’s Wonder World!, Mornings on Triple J, the National Evening Show on ABC Radio and Breakfast on 702ABC Sydney, where she reached Number 1 in the ratings. She also presented Breakfast on Vegafm, Afternoons on 2UE and has been a frequent MC and public speaker. Angela’s music channel “Classics” is heard on Qantas planes all over the world and she is the voice of the Sydney Opera House.

She is also an Ambassador for Habitat for Humanity and the Public Education Foundation. As well, Angela and her border collie Sailor are an accredited Delta Therapy team. They volunteer on a weekly basis.
